Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in the School of Political Science, Public Affairs, Legal and Security Studies.

My research centers around the intersection of infrastructure disparities and their influence on education and public policy through the lenses of race, ethnicity, class, and gender. I pay particular attention to colonias in my home state of Texas, where neighborhood inequities have contributed to the challenges and obstacles residents face in their day-to-day lives.

I earned my PhD in Political Science from Michigan State University where I also attained a specialization in Education Policy and a certificate in Chicano/Latino Studies.
